How do I register as a publisher in an affiliate network?

With most affiliate networks, you can easily register using a form on the website. At Awin you can find this registration button under the Publisher tab on the homepage. When registering, you provide information such as your contact details, details on the publisher segment (content, display, e-mail, search, and your main sales area), your advertising space, and industry. 

If you are unsure about the publisher segment in which category you fall, then tick the box next to the content. Because 99% of the publisher sites fall into this category. For the advertising space, you enter the URL of your website.

Why is online payment required for verification?

Would you work with someone you couldn't trust 100 percent? Probably not. It's the same with us and our advertisers. Network security is a top priority for Awin. Therefore, we carefully and manually check each individual publisher registration. For this purpose, both specially developed tools and instruments from third-party providers are used to verify applicants' identities.

Among other things, we, therefore, ask you for a sign-up deposit worth EUR 5. Upon successful registration, the amount will be credited to your account and transferred back with the first payment. In the event of a rejection, publishers can request a refund from the [email protected] team.

But why is this deposit so important to us? The deposit confirms that the applicant is a customer of a bank. The bank, in turn, can confirm the applicant's identity, which gives us the certainty that an applicant is a real person - and not a troll, for example - who would like to join the Awin network. But don't worry: Awin will not have access to your card data. We trust our third-party providers to check the necessary information for verification.

What happens next?

We strive to process all applications as quickly as possible. From time to time, however, additional information is required, which can delay the registration process a little.

After your application has been checked, one of two possible cases occurs: Your registration was successful (case 1) or your registration was rejected (case 2).

Case 1: Welcome to the Awin network! You will be assigned a unique publisher ID (PID) with which you can immediately identify yourself, create your affiliate links, and via which we will correctly assign your commissions. Next, you can store your account with information about you and your business as well as payment details, such as bank details and tax numbers, or you can also set offers.

You also get instant access to all advertisers in the Awin network. So you can start right away by searching the advertiser directory and applying to suitable retailers.

Case 2: If you are not accepted into the Awin network, there are certain reasons for this, which the compliance team can inform you about. Mostly these consist of a missing imprint or other missing information. It often happens with influencers that they only specified the URL of the platform (e.g. youtube.com) and not the URL of their own channel (e.g. youtube.com/AwinGlobal) in the advertising space in the application form.

As soon as you have adjusted the things for which you were rejected or submitted missing information, you can register again with Awin or simply contact the compliance team.
